Analysis of Student Work and Feedback
Teachers as leaders, designers, and guides to instruction do their work in a cyclical manner. The Design Cycle illustrates how teachers constantly learn from their work more about their students. Their first consideration is student focused articulating what category of motives, i.e. Design Qualities, are most important to their student as well as the content that is to be learned. After the unit is taught teachers analyze the work, student response to the work, and student achievement. This information informs the next unit design.

Protocols: Disciplined Conversations
Once a unit has been designed and taught, a teacher whose role is a leader, designer, and guide to instruction takes time to reflect on the achievement and engagement of the students in response to that work. Often times this analysis is not done alone but rather with colleague who understand the relationship between design, engagement, and achievement.
